 Overexposure to ultraviolet rays of the sun.  Symptoms take up to 24 hours to appear.  The skin can be red,  warm,  tender,  blistered, and swollen.

 Drink plenty of fluids.  Apply light moisturizer (Aloe)  Consult a doctor if there is blistering.  Stay out of the sun.  Wear a hat.

 Injury to a muscle or a tendon (tissue that connects muscle to bone).  In a strain, a muscle or tendon is stretched or torn.

 Rest  Ice  Compress  Elevate  Aspirin or Ibuprofen.

 a fall,  a sudden twist,  or a blow to the body. This forces a joint out of its normal position and stretches or tears the ligament supporting that joint.
