Presentation transcript:

With thanks to Lewisham College Effective Programmes Hallmarks of good quality teaching are programmes that: Produce for each learner a learning plan that lists and provides activities and material to meet specified individual need. That meet learner need. Regularly assess and review learner progress. Are flexible and work towards accreditation.

With thanks to Lewisham College Effective Teachers The role of part-time staff is acknowledged in the sector but there should be a drive towards creating full-time teaching posts. Increasing the number of full-time teaching staff will create more consistency and allow for more professional development than is currently available.

Effective Teaching All learners should have a written study plan with SMART targets. These should be negotiated with the learner and be reviewed and updated regularly.

With thanks to Lewisham College Benefits of new technology For life long learning there should be a greater emphasis on IT skillls.

With thanks to Lewisham College Recommended Teacher Training Initial training in Literacy and Numeracy teaching. FENTO should work with other organisations for new qualifications. By 2005 all teachers should have this qualification.
