This Assignment Requires  1) In-Class Presentation  2) Informational, Interactive CE Exhibit presentation on Friday, March 28 th (9 -1), which each student must attend for a minimum of one hour  3) Evaluation of (4) CE student booths

Steps to the Assignment  Choose a specific Issue related to Diversity  Research & Find Credible Information  Create & Organize In-Class Informative Presentation  Plan & Prepare an Interactive CE Exhibit  Grading/Evaluation  REQUIRED Paperwork on Day of Presentation

Create/Organize Class Presentation  One or more group members will explain the purpose, design & interactive component of the CE exhibit  Each member speaks for 4-5 minutes  Use clear organization and transitions, and include an intro and conclusion  Either.PPT or Prezi is required  Additional visual aids are okay, too!

Plan/Prepare Interactive Exhibit for Civic Expo  Use a tri-fold tabletop display board to:  Display important, relevant & interesting info  Can be textual, visual, 3-D, etc.  Plan an interactive activity to engage attendees in thinking/talking about your issue  Choose the points YOU think are most interesting to open a dialogue with others  Do not simply condense your in-class presentation

Plan/Prepare Interactive Exhibit for Civic Expo On the day of the Civic Expo, Friday, March 28 th, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., group members will:  Take turns staffing the booth  Talk with those who visit their booth  Invite visitors to participate in the group’s interactive activity  Answer questions  Model what informed discussion & dialogue look like!

Grading  Part I – Informative In-Class Presentation  See Grading Rubrics on course website  Worth 75 points – group & Individually graded  Part II – Civic Expo participation  Each member is required to staff the group’s booth for at least one hour  AND, evaluate at least 4 booths using the rubric provided at the event  Worth 25 points – individually graded

REQUIRED Paperwork  One Group Outline (Sample on course website)  One Group Annotated Bibliography summarizing all sources collected. Note the student who gathered the info.  One handout of.PPT slides, 6 slides/page  Rough Draft of CE Exhibit (display layout, information topics, detailed plan for the interactive component)

REQUIRED Paperwork  One Group Grading Rubric  One Individual Grading Rubric for each member, with names filled in  Staple the Outline, Bibliography, and.PPT handout to the Group Grading Rubric (Rubric on top), and sort the Individual Grading Rubrics into speaker order, with the first speaker on top of the stack

Extra Credit  If you attend the Great Debate, Thursday, March 27, you will earn 15 points of extra credit  If your group’s CE Booth is judged to be superior or excellent, you will earn 10 points of extra credit.
