IT for LT Do we need technology to teach languages? Reasons for: Rich input, Access to authentic L2 materials, Internet gives people a channel to express their voices… It’s the next best thing after human interaction (I don’t mean virtual human interaction!) ‘Technology is a series of electronically based platforms and tools that support many language learning activities from the most mechanical drill-and-kill exercises to fully communicative real- time conversations (i.e. chat)’. (Blake, 2008)

Four myths – No, computers will not take over our profession! All good or bad? It is not a methodology! Yes, we do need to keep up! (The only constant is change!)
