Presentation transcript:

 All of our 6 th grade students  The camp provides instructors for all activities done by our students  The students are also accompanied by some of our wonderful Lakeside Staff as well as high school juniors  May 19 – 21 or May  The Outdoor Education Program takes place in Stillwater, NJ  We use the facilities of the YMCA Camp in Stillwater

 The trip is 3 days and 2 nights  The cost of the trip will be approximately $225 per student.  This cost is all inclusive  We will collect three payments:  November 15 th - $75  January 17 th - $75  March 7 th - $75  Each payment is accompanied by a permission slip  In early April a medical form will be sent home.  Medications  Nurse

 Each year we bring high school juniors with us on the trip  The juniors act as responsible assistants to the teachers and the instructional staff at the camp  Opportunity to give back to a trip that was a memorable experience in their Lakeside careers

Any questions at this point? Still to come: Partner selection Daily schedule/activities Living quarters Meals and Chores Do and do not bring list

 The week is broken down into two halves  The students will be attending Outdoor Ed from either Mon – Wed or Wed – Fri.  During the half of the week the students are at Lakeside they will take part in a supplemental program with their 6 th grade teachers

 Monday/Wednesday Arrive at Camp 2 Study Activities Dance  Tuesday/Thursday  3 Study Activities  Touch of Nature  Scavenger Hunt  Campfire  Night Hike  Wednesday/Friday  Clean/Pack  Morning Hike  Head Back to Lakeside

 All students will stay in cabins that are located on the camp grounds.  Each cabin will have 8 – 10 students as well as 1 teacher and 1 high school junior  All cabins are set up in 5 or 6 bunk style beds with open closets  Each cabin also has a bathroom and a separate shower

 Each student will have the opportunity to choose one partner  The rest of the cabin will be chosen at random by us  Rationale  Each student can share this experience with a good friend, in the actual cabin, and have an opportunity to make some new, lasting friends.
