3   The Board may not include semester credit hours earned by a resident undergraduate student who has previously attempted a number of semester credit hours that exceeds by at least 30 hours the number of semester credit hours required for completion of the degree program for which the student is enrolled.   Exceptions to the above limitations   Hours from previous Bachelor’s degree   Hours earned by examination   Remedial or other courses that do not count towards a degree program   Hours earned at a private or out-of-state institution   Dual Credit Hours   The Board may not include semester credit hours earned by a resident undergraduate student who has previously attempted a number of semester credit hours that exceeds by at least 30 hours the number of semester credit hours required for completion of the degree program for which the student is enrolled.   Exceptions to the above limitations   Hours from previous Bachelor’s degree   Hours earned by examination   Remedial or other courses that do not count towards a degree program   Hours earned at a private or out-of-state institution   Dual Credit Hours

10   Students who take hours outside of their degree program or repeat courses already taken, resulting in extensions of their graduation date, represent higher costs for themselves, UTSA and the State of Texas. When State funding is withdrawn, institutions need to recoup that lost tuition revenue as authorized by Texas Education Code.
