Brazilian Association for Development and Relief (BADR) is a non-profitable organization with authorization number of (8421), it has been established recently in Gaza Strip by Palestinians-Brazilians in Gaza for humanitarian purpose and it is considered as an independent body. BADR heads to support poor families, vulnerable groups, Orphans to secure a suitable livelihood and dignity and to develop youth activities including training skills development and initiatives. Moreover, BADR focuses on the Palestinian society, also it is complying with the emergency appeals since the Palestinian society in Gaza is suffering from shortage of food (availability) and economic means (affordability). BADR renders relief services to Palestinian poor families and complies with the emergency appeal during disasters. It also supports youth and different vital sectors of agriculture, social, education and health depending on potential donors interested in helping vulnerable groups who lack for economic means and shortage of food. Meat distribution project was implemented in liaising with the association of peace, solidarity and relief in addition to Rafah Municipality in Gaza Strip during Al Adha Eid in last October, Thus this project targeted about 120 poor families as indicated in the list illustrated in the appendices below. These families appreciated the role of BADR and its activities toward the poor families hoping to continue in supporting such these families in Gaza Strip as long as they are living in a bad circumstances. According to the discussion made between a group of Palestinians- Brazilians at Gaza in Roots restaurant regarding the training course of the Portuguese language last August 2013, BADR has started the implementation the training course for a group of interested trainees about (10), most of these trainees are Palestinians who have the Brazilian nationality and the other are interested in Portuguese language and they are willing to travel to Brazil. The course was implemented also in the training center related to with the association of peace, solidarity and relief, the trainer of this course is Laila Chahin who has the Brazilian citizenship and the training materials were provided by the Brazilian Embassy. BADR successfully conducted an activity of reading encouragement for a group of children in liaising with local NGOs in Palestine-Gaza Strip. The children participated in reading stories, creative writing, exchanging ideas and team role playing. Brazilian Ambassador visited today both the Brazilian Association for Development & Relief and the Association of Peace, Solidarity & Relief in Gaza. The visit was very important, whereas we reviewed some projects implemented in Gaza including training & development center, Orphans project, Adahi meat distribution and other relieving projects. Finally we discussed how to support and relieve poor families focusing on the poverty alleviation in Gaza. Brazilian Ambassador visited today both the Brazilian Association for Development & Relief and the Association of Peace, Solidarity & Relief in Gaza. BADR intends to establish a database of poor families who are in a crucial needs for food and are living in bad circumstances under the poverty line in cooperation with other NGOs. 3. BADR is going to conduct more training courses in Portuguese language in liaising with the association of peace, solidarity and relief. 4. BADR is going to list a group of potential donors who are interested in supporting and providing assistance for Palestinian poor families in Gaza Strip. 1.
