+ No one best way but some basic principles How long should it be?

+ CV Get the basics right- type, spelling, grammar etc Is it easy to read? Adapt it to individual jobs Ensure you meet the personal spec Emphasise achievements

+ Name and contact details Full name Address Telephone number

+ Short overall summary of skills/ experience I am a Staff Nurse with 5 years experience on an acute medical ward. During this time I have been the link nurse for infection control and have reduced the infection rate on the ward by 50%

+ CV- Content List experience/jobs- current one first - From when to when- accurate- explain gaps - Organisation - Job title - Key functions- not the JD

+ Key achievements Change emphasis as appropriate STAR-Situation/Task/Action/Result Use positive action words such as developed, planned, led, organised Relate to the skills/personal spec

+ Other Sections Educational qualifications/Training Publications Scholarships Referees- relevant, contact details

+ Personal information Other relevant skills/hobbies/interests? i.e. I have run a Brownie pack for six years Captain a netball team I run marathons! Make It Snappy Google cv- there’s lots of information out there!
