3.2 | Verbal Spin-Offs

STEP 1 - LEARN View this presentation to learn about direct and indirect verbal spin offs. Theme development, both visual and verbal, is used by advertising and marketing professionals. Developing a yearbook theme is a way to develop skills that are highly sought-after in the business world.

VERBAL SPIN-OFFS VERBALLY UNIFY THE BOOK Two types: Direct: Feature key words pulled directly from the theme statement. Conceptual: Relies on the concept introduced by the theme rather than on the words.

SAMPLE DIRECT SPIN-OFFS Theme: “After All is Said and Done” Spin-offs: You can say that again Easier said than done Been there, done that Who says? Goes without saying Direct Spin-offs are: Parallel or repetitive Easy to understand Easy to over-use Each of the spin-offs include a word that is in the verbal theme.
