Social Studies Goals Culture Goal: I Can understand how cultural values unfluence relationships between individuals, groups, and political entities in modern societies. Economics Goal: I Can understand the economic activities of modern societies. Geography Goals: I Can understand how geography, demographic trends, and environmental conditions shape modern societies. I Can apply the tools of a geographer to understand modern societies. Government Goal: I Can understand the development of government in modern societies. History Goals: I Can understand the implications of global interactions. I Can use historical thinking to analyze various modern societies.

Interactive Social Studies Notebook Purpose: The purpose of the ISN is designed to enable you to be a creative, independent thinker and writer. The notebooks will be used for class notes as well as for other activities where you will be asked to express your own ideas and process the information presented by this class. Materials: Composition Notebook (plan to use only for SS), Colored Pencils, Crayons, Pens, Pencils, Highlighters, Glue Sticks, Sticky Notes Organization: Notebooks in this class will be used daily. Your notebook will help you record, organize, and process new information. Most of your classwork will be done in your ISN. The ISN will be organized in this way: -Essential Questions -Target Goals -Classroom Notes -Vocabulary -Power Writes Grading: The ISN will be checked periodically for completeness. Students will be informed beforehand. All class notes and assignments should be included. They should be in the order that they were assigned. An important part of you ISN is its visual appearance. Your ISN should be organized and neat. Your creative touch should be visible throughout the notebook.
