ST. MARTIN’S STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM: PHASE II Comunicación y Gerencia November 26, 2006

OUR OVERALL PLAN OUR OVERALL PLAN Stewardship – a Parish priority Build on existing strengths through current groups – everyone a member of the Stewardship Team of St. Martin’s! Three phases/steps in our Plan: 1.Vision: What journery do we want to do ~ What kind of church do we want to be? 2.Goals: Achieving our vision – Things needed for our journey! 3.Ownership: Becoming our vision – here’s what we offer!

VISIONING PHASE What we set out to accomplish in this phase - Inviting Your Input! Explored: – Who Are We? April 23 - May 7 – What Do We Need to Do? May 14 – 28 – What Do We Want to Be? June 4 – 28

VISIONING PHASE (cont’d) Considering the Input! – What we heard! June 25 th brunch – Reflecting on what we heard! July, August, & September ‘Visioning Brunch’ Confirming Our Biblical Image & Vision Nov. 26 th dinner

OUR PARISH MISSION As a Christian community, our vocation is to ensure that we have a strong spiritual, scriptural, and sacramental base from which we commit ourselves to act as God’s stewards in and beyond St. Martin’s Parish.

OUR BIBLICAL IMAGE The Lord is my Shepherd, The Good Samaritan, Jesus & the miracle of the loaves & fishes. Sharing what we have to aid others!

OUR VISION A church that: Is a caring, welcoming & friendly group of Christians, Reaches out to the ‘less fortunate’, involved in mission & outreach, & Is involved with & visible in community issues & local ministry

THE GOALS PHASE Exploring the questions:  What would our vision look like in action at St. Martin’s?  How do we understand the biblical image we’ve chosen?  What is entailed in realizing our vision for God’s community at St. Martin’s?  How might we live out the biblcial image as a congregation ?

GOALS PHASE (cont’d) Process: † Start tonight, until Lent †Opportunties throughout the Advent period via posters in church, etc. †Advent Study based on ‘Making Visions Incarnate’ † By Vestry have draft of ‘case study’ ~ what St. Martin’s could & should be doing to live up to our Image & Vision. † Between Vestry & Easter – confirm our ‘case’.

OWNERSHIP PHASE Easter to Pentecost Making a commitment to living our biblical image and vision out as a congregation. Putting action to our Goals & Case Study ~ here’s what we offer by way of time, skills, financial support, etc.

THE THEREAFTER After the 3 rd phase – what happens? We Put Our Image & Goals Into Action !!!
