What is it? ●The Pantheon is a temple in Rome ●The name comes from greek Πάνθεον which means temple consecrated to all gods ●It was commissioned by Marcus Agrippa ●It was commissioned during the reign of Augustus

Why was it built? ●During the reign of Augustus, his friend and commander Marcus Agrippa made consul for a 3rd time it was dedicated to that occasion. ● It was rebuilt by the emperor Hadrian after it was burnt down in the fire of 80 a.d.

Where is it located ●The location of the Pantheon at the time that it was being built was in the outskirts of Rome. ●They chose this location to be a new urban center present day map ancient map

Uses of the Pantheon ●The original use of the Pantheon was unknown but since it was a temple it was probably used for praying. ●The Pantheon is as it is today because the emperor Phocas of the Byzantine empire gifted it to the pope Boniface VIII in 608 a.d. and it has been used as a church ever since
