What is IP Monitoring? Video monitoring system using the IP network ? IP Camera Server / Storage Monitoring An IP camera converts video images into IP form for transmission over standard networks including the Internet. Audio, alarms and camera control signals can all be carried as IP traffic over the same network, too.

What is an IP Camera? A network camera can be described as a camera and a computer combined. A network camera has its own IP address and built-in computing functions to handle network communication. Outgoing video, audio and alarm data is encoded (digitized), and incoming command data decoded, by the camera. It is connected directly to the network as any other network device and it has built-in software for a Web server, FTP server, FTP client and client. It also includes alarm input and relay output as well. More advanced network cameras can also be equipped with many other value-added functions such as motion detection and an analog video output.
