Everyone has wants and needs. They can be different for each person. So what is the difference between a want and need?

 Wants are desires for goods and services we would like to have but do not need. Many wants may seem like needs. Sports Car Computer Toys What is a want ?

 Needs are a special kind of want and refer to things we must have to survive. Food, water and shelter are examples of things you need. Water Food Shelter What is a need ?

Examples… I want a video game but I need shoes to protect my feet. I want a cell phone but I need a coat for the cold weather. I want an ice cream cone but I really need to eat fruits and vegetables instead. I want a can of soda but I need water.
