5. Box Turtles – Outside Climate  Box turtles living outside need to live in a temperate climate. Temperate means that it can’t be too hot or too cold.  It is very important that their climate is always kept humid, to keep them from drying out and getting sick.  They should have some water nearby to take a bath in, and the water can not be too cold.
