Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Course Certification Requirement Changes for FY11 & FY12 (ao 17 June 2011)

Acquisition and Program Management Training FY11: PMT 352B – Jan 2011, class shortened from 21.5 to 19 days Dragonfly replaces Mindrover Simulation FY12: ACQ 201A – will be replaced with ACQ 202 (substantial revision-course number may potentially change again. No specific date yet.) FY12: ACQ 201B – will be replaced with ACQ 203 (substantial revision-course number may potentially change again. No specific date yet.) PMT 250 - replaced with PMT 251 & PMT 256 in June 2010 PMT 251 - deployed April 2010, distance learning, rolling admission PMT 256 - deployed June 2010 (the virtual portion of old PMT 250) PMT 257 – replaced PMT 256 in Spring 2011; increase from 4 days to 4.5 days to include earned value management, scheduling and risk topics. FY12: PMT 352A – BCF 102, BCF 103 and LOG 103 will be new prerequisites. (No specific date yet.)

FY11 – Contracting (C) and Industrial/Contract Property Management (D) CON 090 (Res) – required for Contracting, Level 1 certification only if assigned to a Contracting position 1 Oct 2010 and thereafter Exception: Personnel coded contracting on 30 Sep 2010 are exempt from CON 090 through 30 Sep 2012 CON 217, Cost Analysis and Negotiation Techniques removed as Level II certification requirement for Industrial/Contract Property Management

FY12 – Purchasing (E) Level 2 CON 110 , CON 111, CON 112 & CON 120 - will be replaced with CON 115 (DL)

FY12 – Contracting (C) Level 1 CON 090 (Res) – no change from FY11, still required for Contracting, Level 1 certification only if assigned to a Contracting position 1 Oct 2010 and thereafter CON 100 (DL) – no change from FY12 CON 110 , CON 111, CON 112 & CON 120 - will be replaced with CON 115 (DL) Additional Reqmt: CLC 058, CON 170 (Res) & CLC 033 CON 170 pilot course scheduled for 19-30 Sept 2011

FY12 – Contracting (C) Level 2 ACQ 101 – no change CON 214 – will be replaced with CON 200 (DL) Business Decisions for Contracting CON 215 – will be replaced with CON 280 (Res) Source Selection and Administration of Service Contracts CON 216 – no change CON 217 Pre course work portion – will be replaced with CLC 056 Analyzing Contract Costs (available in CL module now) CON 217 (Res) portion – will be replaced with CON 270 (Res) Intermediate Cost and Price Analysis. Course pilot scheduled for 8-19 Aug 2011. New course will not be available until Jan 2012 In addition to CLC 056 and CON 170 will be the required prerequisite CON 218 – will be replaced with CON 290 (Res) Contract Administration and Negotiation Techniques in a Supply Environment New Reqmt: CLC 057, CLC 051 and HBS 428 (available in CL module now)

FY12 – Contracting (C) Level 3 ACQ 201A – no change CON 353 – will be replaced with CON 360 (Res) Contracting for Decision Makers Select from one of the HBS courses – no change New Reqmt – Select from one of the following resident classes: ACQ 370, ACQ 265, CON 232, CON 334, CON 235, CON 244 or CON 250

FY11 – Information Technology (R) Level 2 IRM 201 and SAM 201 – No long acceptable for certification level 2 (expire 9/30/10) Effective 1 October – ACQ 201A & B and IRM 202 required for certification level 2 IRM 202 prerequisites Prerequisites, effective 1 October - 30 December 2010: ACQ 201B IRM 101 CLE 003, Technical Reviews Prerequisites, effective 1 January 2011: CLE 060, Practical Software Measures

FY11 & FY12 – Logistics (L) Level 1 FY11: LOG 103 (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) required course LOG 103 – replaced LOG 203 FY12: SYS 101 required course

FY12 – Logistics (L) Level 2 New Reqmt : LOG 206 (DL) Intermediate Systems Sustainment Management required course New Reqmt: CLL 001 Life Cycle Management & Sustainment Metrics) & CLL 012 (Supportability Analysis) will be required course Both new courses in development Students will no longer have a choice as to which CL module to choose for certification FY12: LOG 236 no longer required

FY12 – Logistics (L) Level 3 Choice of one of: RQM 110, ACQ 265, BCF 215 or LOG 204. New Reqmt : CLL 015 Business Case Analysis; CLL 020 Independent Logistics Assessment & CLL 005 Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP) will be required course LCSP is new course in development Students will no longer have a choice as to which CL module to choose for certification LOG 236 – will be replaced with LOG 340 Enterprise Life Cycle Logistics Management New 4.5 day course; 1st pilot course 24-28 Jan 2011 LOG 236 valid predecessor for LOG 340 until 30 Sept 2012 LOG 350 – no change, still required

FY11 – Program Management International Acquisition Career Path (PM-IA) Beginning 1 Oct 2010 and remainder of FY11 – PM-International Acquisition coding apply only to Program Management positions with Cert requirement of level 2 and 3. PM-International Acquisition, level 2 positions require PMT 202 and PMT 203 PM-International Acqusition, level 3 positions require PMT 202, PMT 203 and PMT 304 On or around 14 Oct 2010 - PM-International Acquisition, all level 3 positions previously coded in DCPDS with Career Category of “1” will convert back to Career Category of “A” and the entry of an “I” in the “Job Specialty 1” field. The job specialty code will not be visible on the ACRB. Note: the Career Category field is the same as Acquisition Position Category (APC) code. Between 1 Oct and 31 Dec 2010: Review PM level 2 positions and determine which ones should be designated as PM-International Acquisition.

FY12 - Program Management (A), level 3 In FY12, PM level 3 will also require completion of the following courses toward certification: BCF 102 – Earned Value Management Fundamentals BCF 103 – Business Financial Management Fundamentals LOG 103 – Reliability, Availability and Maintainability

FY12 – S&T Management (A), level 1 In FY12, effective 1 Oct 2011. New certification requirement, will also require: CLE 068 – Intellectual Property, available August 2011
