Tier 2 Visa Applications

Introduction This pack is to support you in preparing to apply for a Tier 2 Licence It should be used in conjunction with this pack from North Staffs LMC NHS England Central Programme Team can provide further assistance We also have a directory of other organisations who have been through this process We can also provide you with subject matter expert support from these practices NHS England would recommend that you will need to invest a minimum of 2 days into the application process It will take up to 8 weeks to get a response to the application Licences are valid for 4 years

Getting Started As with all forms like this i.e. tax returns; the best practice is to prepare the information in advance This document goes through the full forms to show you all the information that you are going to be asked for Best practice would be to collate the information first before starting the application You can find further information here and here that will provide some additional background reading Good Practice to is to read all available information before starting the application To start the application you will need to click here Once you have started the application you can save your work and come back to it later

Resident Labour Market Test You must be able to meet the criteria of the Resident Labour Market Test as part of the application: You must have a genuine vacancy It must have been advertised either: For a continuous single period of 28 days or In 2 stages each of which must be for at least 7 days and be within a minimum 28 day period and In two forms (e.g. on line and in a journal, or on line in two different settings) If you are offering a salary of less than £73,900 p.a. one of these must be on the Jobcentre website Organisations do not need to satisfy the requirements of the Resident Labour Market Test  if they intend to employ someone that is already in country, training and switching to a tier 2 visa

Costs There are some costs associated with the application NHS England will reimburse the application costs And the first 2 years Immigration skills charge Type of licence Fee for small or charitable sponsors Fee for medium or large sponsors Tier 2 £536 £1,476 Period Small or charitable sponsors Medium or large sponsors First 12 months £364 £1,000 Each additional 6 months £182 £500
