ELA Reading: Ready Reading workbook English: Spiral Review Spelling/Word Study: Weekly Quizzes, 10 words that cover meaning and spelling Writing: 2 grades per nine-weeks (writing pieces OR quizzes) Spelling and Vocabulary quizzes will be on Fridays. Other ELA tests/quizzes will be given at the end of each unit. Remind messages will be sent to announce test dates. A to Z assessments will be the only test grades. Tests are counted twice.

Accelerated Reader AR information came home yesterday for you and your student to sign and return. Read and test on at least 3 chapter books by the end of each 9 weeks to attend AR reward activity. Total AR quiz average counts as one grade at the end of each 9 weeks.

Science and Social Studies Science- Mrs. Wickham Social Studies- Mrs. Hill We will alternate between science and social studies. Study guides will always be given for tests. Tests are counted twice.

Graded Papers Papers will go home daily after we have graded and reviewed them. The papers will be located in your child’s binder and are yours to keep. Please use these papers to work with your child at home. We feel that sending papers home daily vs. weekly allows students ample time for review before testing. If you are not receiving graded papers in the binder please discuss this with your child. We encourage everyone to gain access to your child’s grades online. You may pick-up a “Family Access” packet/application from the front office at any time. Tests will be sent home as the unit is assessed. You will receive a Remind message when tests are sent home. Please always review the tests with your child.

FYI Absences & Transportation Changes - Send note (see binder) 4 unexcused tardies or early checkouts equals an absence Students are allowed 5 parent notes per semester, after 5 must be a doctor’s note Issues/Concerns-contact Hill or Wickham Sick Student What can go home?
