ACTIVITIES OF THE PROAIRE Strategy 1. Reduction of emissions from stationary sources Activity 1. Strengthening of the regulation of the state industry. Activity 2. Regulation of the activities of the extraction of stone deposits (bank of materials). Activity 3. Control of emissions in the electric energy sector. Activity 4. Promotion of actions to control the emissions to the atmosphere from the federal industrial sector.

ACTIVITIES OF THE PROAIRE Strategy 2. Reduction of emissions from mobile sources Activity 5. Development of a sustainable mobility in the principal urban zones of the state. Activity 6. Improvement of the compulsory smog check program. Activity 7. Regulation of the activities of operation of marine boats at the ports. Activity 8. Implementation of a program to reduce the emissions generated from vehicles at the ports of entry.

ACTIVITIES OF THE PROAIRE Strategy 3. Reduction of emissions from area sources Activity 9. Regulation of the commercial and service activities. Activity 10. Development of a program for the control of emissions of particles originated by bare soil cover. Activity 11. Substitution of agricultural burning for sustainable processes. Activity 12. Formulation of a program to control the air emissions from livestock activities. Activity 13. Development of a program to reduce the emissions of VOC`s coming from the storage and distribution of fuels.

ACTIVITIES OF THE PROAIRE Strategy 4. Health protection Activity 14. Elaboration of the Contingency Atmospheric Program for the state (in particular for Mexicali). Activity 15. Carry out studies to strengthen the epidemiologic analysis in relation to pollutants in the air. Strategy 5. Communication & environmental education Activity 16. Elaboration of a strategy of risk communication due to air pollution. Activity 17. Integration of environmental education as a part of the process of improvement in the educational system of the state. Strategy 6. Institutional strengthening Activity 18. Strengthening of the atmospheric monitoring system in the state. Activity 19. Update of the emissions inventory. Activity 20. Follow-up and evaluation of the Pro-aire.
