Visual Art Mrs. Rebecca Kasilus FALL 2019 745-5190 ext. 5056 Welcome to Art! I am so excited to have you in my class this year. We will use creative processes with a variety of mediums throughout this course and learn about Art History. In this nine-week course, students are expected to think outside the box, come to each class prepared, respect the thoughts and ideas of others, be responsible with the art room equipment and supplies, and bring a positive attitude each day! All students will be held accountable for his/her actions. A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS QUARTER UNIT 1: Drawing UNIT 2: Painting UNIT 3: Printmaking UNIT 4: Craft/3D DAILY- 5 Minute Warm Up Drawings Are Averaged For One Weekly Participation Grade PROJECTS- Looking for Creative Ideas, Understanding of Concepts, Craftsmanship, and Timeliness REFLECTIONS- Written Artist Statements, Thoughts and Ideas on the Unit Information ASSESSMENTS- Formal and Informal Quizzes Are Used To Gauge Understanding

Extensions are only possible when a parent or guardian communicates the issue with Mrs. Kasilus via letter or email prior to the project’s due date. Art supplies will not be sent home with students. We will take every precaution to ensure clothes are kept tidy, but please understand that Art projects can be messy. We will take care of art materials and not be wasteful. We will respect the thoughts and ideas of others. We will learn through discovery, and yes, sometimes that happens through mistakes. We will TRY our best, everyday! “You can’t use up creativity.
