Homeroom Expectations Students should be in homeroom by 8am each morning otherwise they will be marked as ‘absent’ Students must be dressed in appropriate uniform Students must have the correct equipment required for the day If students are late, they must sign in the late book at the front of school Students should wear their house shirt each Friday for house competitions.

Timetables You can see you child’s personalised timetable via the Parent Portal Students can access a copy of their timetable from their pupil portal.

Homework In KS4, students will receive 60 minutes homework per subject, per week. This may increase in the run up to examinations. Homework must be submitted and completed on the deadline given by the classroom teacher. Teachers will follow the homework timetable when setting homework. Homework should be printed and ready to submit to a teacher at the start of a lesson at the teachers’ request.

Recording Homework All homework is assigned to students via the Engage portal. Teachers will log homework with the task, deadline and any necessary instructions. In addition, teachers may also post homework tasks on Google Classrooms for students. Pupils can log into their portal page using the portal link on the school webpage.

Student Absence In the event that a student is to have planned absence / illness, the school must be notified Planned absence [errand leave] requires the completion of a form in the front office Only special circumstances will result in errand leave being granted and this is considered on a case by case basis When students are ill, an email should be sent to the office and homeroom teacher informing them. Only when this is received, can the attendance be marked as illness If students are absent without reason, this is recorded as absent [not authorised]. Please inform the school of all absences in advance where possible.

Uniform Students should wear only the uniform as required in the school handbook Students are not permitted to wear hooded tops / jumpers that are not school jumpers – such items will be confiscated if this is a persistent issue Skirts should be knee length. Shorts should sit on the knee A single, stud earring is permitted in each ear Students should look tidy and presentable each morning for the start of the school day Students should wear their PE kit on appropriate days. If this is a Friday, they should wear their house shirt and PE shorts and change into their PE shirt.

Uniform

Lockers All secondary students are provided with a locker. All students will receive a new locker this year. Students should bring their padlock and key to school on Monday Students should keep the majority of their books in their locker and visit it frequently during the day to keep their bag light Laptops can be stored in lockers and collected by students when requested by teachers Lockers should remain clear of food waste and will be checked by homeroom teachers at intervals in the year If a student loses their key, they should visit the front office and arrange for a new key at a cost to them of 100THB.

Lockers Please bring your padlock and key from last year to school on Monday New students can collect a padlock and key from the admin You will be issued a new locker number and will be able to put your books / PE kit etc. in you locker during Monday homeroom You can purchase a lock from outside of school or go to the front office during the day on Monday to get one.

Stationary and Equipment All students are expected to attend lessons with the appropriate stationary. This can alter slightly from subject to subject but as a minimum all students should have their own of the following: Pen [including a spare Blue/Black] Pencil Ruler Scientific Calculator Eraser Laptop & Power Supply [this can be stored in locker and collected when instructed by a teacher] Water Bottle Students who persistently forget items required in lessons may receive a sanction in line with the schools behaviour policy.

Duke of Edinburgh International Award

About the award The awards are focused on adolescents and young adults completing a series of character building, teamwork and self-improvement exercises and tasks over a number of months. There are three levels of the award; Bronze, Silver or Gold. The completion of the award gives students a great sense of satisfaction, furthers independent learning skills and is received well by universities and further education providers. The sections are Volunteering undertaking service to individuals or the community. Physical improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities. Skills developing practical and social skills and personal interests. Expedition planning, training for and completion of an adventurous journey.

Adventurous Journey: Bronze

Bronze adventurous journey Kayaking expedition (2 days and 1 night) To complete the adventurous journey it is split up into three sections Training Practice Adventurous journey

Bronze adventurous journey We work with a company called Toppersailing, based on Aon beach. On the morning of the trips students will meet at school at 8am and the bus will take the students to beach. Students will be returned to school by approximately 4:30pm

Online records The students are required to complete an online record to submit to the Duke of Edinburgh award office to obtain there award. All students have 1 hour slot (per week) during the school day to assist them with this. Everything they submit is evidence to demonstrate they have achieved the criteria to gain the award. This will be assessed by staff in school to check it is suitable before it is sent away. The website is onlinerecordbook.org where they record all of there information.
