Interview Preparation Year 10 Authentic Assessment Interview Preparation

What is Authentic Assessment? Authentic Assessment allows for an opportunity to showcase the outstanding work samples you have collected throughout the year to teachers, executive and also community members. You may choose work samples from a variety of KLAs and they don’t all have to be assessment task

What is the purpose of Authentic Assessment? At Callaghan College Wallsend Campus we aim to have a learning environment that: engages students in the learning experience enables everyone to celebrate their learning successes includes all types of learners involves the school and wider community.

The Interview

The interview Students will present their collection of work to a panel consisting of a teacher, community member and peers. The panel will award each student a grade on their ability to discuss their learning at the interview. This grade and report will appear on the student’s yearly report. Students will be allocated 10 minutes to present their work.

This interview involves more than just students bringing items with them . They must demonstrate to the panel not only what they have learnt, but also to explain the learning processes that they have used this year. In their interview, students need to be selective in what they decide to show and talk about in close detail

Guided Questions and Types of Evidence Could you tell us a little about yourself, your skills and what you hope to do in the future. Please choose an assignment, show us the end product and explain to us the requirements of the task Could you choose another assignment and tell us what you enjoyed about completing the task, and your process to successfully complete it. Could you tell us about one assignment that you found difficult. Can you tell us how you overcame the problems posed by the task. Individual panel question What are your thoughts about the E-Portfolio process and did you feel you well prepared for your interview. Please explain your answer. Presentation Skills Tidy personal appearance. Work samples presented at interview Evidence of speaking confidently using a clear voice Evidence of eye contact during presentation Answered questions without being prompted
