Welcome to the Ted Wragg Multi Academy Trust

Introduction... Here’s a short video with some helpful information to help you settle into your new role. In this video we will introduce you to our: Safeguarding Procedures Mandatory Trust Training requirements Staff Wellbeing & Benefits Pensions & Payroll Procedures Staff Code of Conduct Trust Values

Child Protection, Safeguarding & Prevent Child Protection, Safeguarding and Prevent is the responsibility of all staff, regardless of their role. Safeguarding concerns could be related to Child Protection, such as;  Physical, Emotional & Sexual Abuse Neglect  Domestic Violence Radicalisation Mental Health concerns or any other behaviours likely to cause harm to a child/young person or vulnerable adult.

Child Protection, Safeguarding & Prevent Please ensure you read the Keeping Children Safe in Education document carefully along with your school’s Child Protection procedure so you know what you should do if you have any concerns in this area. If you have concerns about a student’s welfare, receive a disclosure of abuse or are concerned that a student may be being radicalised you have a duty to pass this on to your school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead. It is your responsibility to know who this is. Check your school’s child protection document for this information.

Mandatory Training As a new member of staff within the Ted Wragg Trust, you are required to undertake the following; Read the Keeping Children Safe in Education documents Attend Level 2 Safeguarding Training Read the Trust Code of Conduct Undertake the following online training: PREVENT Responding to Allegations and role of the LADO Child exploitation Female Gender Mutilation/Suicide Preventation You are also asked to read and understand key Trust and school/site specific policies and procedures all of which are available on the staff intranet. Once you have completed the above, you will need to sign a declaration within 4 weeks of your start date that you have read and understand this information. (Information to enable you to access the full list and relevant links can be found in the New Staff area of the website)

Staff Wellbeing The Trust is committed to promoting wellbeing amongst staff and has a number of support services in place such as;  Occupational Health Advice Offers Confidential Support Schools Advisory Service Free 24 hour helpline – 0845 4031037 Free, confidential telephone counselling or face-to-face sessions available  Please contact HR to request your log in details

Pensions When you first start work at the Trust, you will automatically be enrolled into either the;   Teachers Pensions Scheme (Teaching Staff) or  Local Government Pension scheme (Support Staff). The scheme you are eligible to join will depend on whether you have a teaching or support contract with the Trust. How much you contribute will depend on your annual salary, for more information on this and contribution bandings, please visit the Staff area of the website.

Payroll All employees are paid on the 25th of each month via BACS. When the 25th falls on a weekend or bank holiday, you will be paid on the first working day prior to that weekend or bank holiday. Each month you are paid for that month's salary. If you submit claim forms on a monthly basis you are paid in arrears. Payslips can be downloaded by visiting the staff section of the Ted Wragg Trust website and clicking on the ‘Itrent, Employee Self Service (ESS)’ section. Log in details will be issued to you prior to your first pay day. Please ensure you forward your P45 from your previous employment to HR/Payroll for processing.

Staff Code of Conduct The Trust is committed to ensuring that all our employees are role models and that their behavior demonstrates a good example to pupils. As a member of the school community, every employee has an opportunity to maintain their reputation and the reputation of the school and the Trust at all times. We have developed a Staff Code of Conduct which you should familiarise yourself with so you know what is expected of you. There are behaviours that are not acceptable in any form.  

Health & Safety You will need to familiarise yourself with your school specific Health and Safety policy as soon as you start in your new role. Ensure you know what the school emergency evacuation procedure is and where you should convene in the case of a fire. Find out who the school first aiders are, how to contact them in an emergency and where the first aid boxes are located.  

Sickness Absence If you are unwell and unable to attend work, you will need to personally contact your line manager via telephone to inform them of your absence. You will need to do this within 30 minutes of your usual start time. If you are absent from work for more than 7 calendar days, you will need to obtain a medical certificate from your Doctor. The trust aims to support those with genuine sickness absence or underlying health conditions to achieve regular sustained attendance.

Staff Policies The Ted Wragg Multi Academy Trust has in place a range of policies which aim to provide advice and guidance to staff and managers on a range of employee relations issues.
