Setting Priorities and Achieving Goals C2, S1

What’s Most Important? The choices you make as a consumer depend in part on your priorities – your judgments about the relative importance of alternatives. How do we determine what is most important?....

What Determines Your Priorities?

Needs and Wants Needs: Things you must have in order to live. Wants: Things you desire but which aren’t necessary to live.

Values Values are strongly held beliefs about what is worthwhile. Most people share a common set of values. They include honesty, respect, kindness, courtesy, and fairness.

Standards Standards: Levels of success people establish for themselves How do you measure it?

Goals Goals: Targets for what you want to accomplish. Goals translate priorities into action. Goals can be short-term or long-term.

Achieving Goals Step 1: Set proper goals (not too easy, not to difficult) Step 2: Prepare to deal with difficulties Step 3: Enlist the support of others Step 4: Acknowledge your successes and failures
