A feeling of worth and good relationships with others are often the basis of a successful life. People who are truly successful are always trying to fulfill their potential. Potential: capable of becoming

4 Self-Belief Belief in yourself and your abilities.
The foundation of success.

5 Success An ongoing process, not a single achievement.
Means more than fame, awards or money. Fulfillment of wide-ranging potential: emotional, intellectual, social, physical.

6 VALUES People who lead successful lives live by a certain values

7 Values Your deepest feelings and thoughts about yourself and life.
What you think, how you feel, how you act. Come from family, friends, religion, culture, school, and society. Can change because of personal experience or societal events.

8 Fulfill your own potential
Successful people also see that their potential continues to change and grow as they gain experience. People who are trying to reach their potential know that the pursuit of success is a lifelong process.

Take out a sheet of paper and put your name on it. Answer the questions in complete sentences. You will turn this in at the end of class.

What is your top ranked value?

12 Beliefs Specific opinions about people, situations, things, and ideas.
Arise from your values. Can both affect and be affected by behavior. Negative self-belief frustrates potential. Positive self-belief is enabling.

I can’t do Algebra I am not smart enough to do that Nobody cares about me I will never get straight As Self fulfilling prophecy: a belief that comes true because you belief in it. 14 Achieving Positive Self-Belief
Brings self-respect and confidence in your abilities. Helps you be resilient in the face of difficulties. Is the foundation of success. How is your self-belief? How can you improve it?

15 Beliefs Recognize how others affect your beliefs.
Take control of your beliefs. Don’t be a victim. Change your beliefs and you will change your behavior. Change your behavior and you will change your life. Change your beliefs with positive self-talk. Let's Watch
