Place Book Cover Image Here. Plot Plot What happened in the beginning of the book? Anna and Caleb are upset because their mother died. Caleb keeps asking things about their mother, like if she sang. Finally, Papa finds out about Sarah and brings Sarah down to see if she’ll stay. What happened in the middle of the book? Caleb, Sarah, and Anna do things that Sarah did in Maine, using things that the farm has, like swimming in the cow pond. What happened at the end of the book? Sarah has a fun time, and likes the peacefulness of the farm, and decides to stay. Place Book Cover Image Here. Return to Homepage

Place Book Cover Image Here. Setting Setting is where and when the story takes place. On a farm before modern times, when there’s no cars or electricity. It doesn’t tell exactly where the farm is located. Place Book Cover Image Here. Return to Homepage

Characters Write the name of each main character and a sentence that tells about them. Put each character on a new line. Caleb: Someone who isn’t very cautious and always just goes right ahead. Anna: Very cautious and makes sure everything’s safe before doing something. Also she is kind and cares about her brother and tries to keep him safe. Papa: A very happy man until his wife dies. Now he is very upset and never sings. Sarah: Loves to show things to Anna and Caleb. Cares for them, and Papa, very much. Return to Homepage

Genre What genre is your book? Fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, horror, humor, mythology, realistic fiction, adventure? Why did you choose that genre? Give an example from the book that supports the genre you chose. Realistic fiction because everything in this book could really happen in life. Someone could really visit a family and decide to stay after seeing what the family is like. Return to Homepage

Vocabulary Write any words that were unfamiliar to you (or a word you think may be difficult for another student) as you were reading the book. Include the definition of the word. You can create your own definition or use a dictionary. I found no words in this book that were in a high vocabulary level for me. I understood all of them. Return to Homepage
