Lecture Notes for Quiz 6; Lesson 5, Ch. 10 Review from last week. In feudalism, a king’s /lord’s/noble’s word was law. Magna Carta diminished the king’s word. Step 1 Make a Cornell sheet. Make sure name, date, and period are on it. Divide the main notes space into two columns. Ottoman Empire-Sunni Muslim controlled Title for the left column: Lecture Absorbed Byzantine Empire (Eastern Roman Empire). Title for the right column: Textbook Ottoman started A.D. 1362 and ended with last Sultan in 1922. Step 2 sultan – title of a noble not as powerful as a caliph.
