Downloading eBooks on EBSCOhost Tutorial support.ebsco.com

Welcome to EBSCO’s downloading eBooks tutorial Welcome to EBSCO’s downloading eBooks tutorial. In this tutorial, we will look at how to download eBooks from eBooks on EBSCOhost. To download eBooks , eBook downloads must be enabled by your library. In addition, you must have a personal My EBSCOhost folder account.

If you need to create a My EBSCOhost folder account, click the Sign In link in the top toolbar and then click the Create a new Account link to provide your information. After creating your account, you are automatically logged in and can begin searching for eBooks.

We’ll begin by conducting a Basic Search on business We’ll begin by conducting a Basic Search on business. Enter your search terms and click Search.

From the Result List, click the Download (Offline) link to begin downloading an eBook to your computer.

Select a Checkout Period from the drop-down menu and click the Checkout & Download button. The eBook is added to the Checkout area of the folder. Please note, Adobe ® Digital Editions must be installed on your computer in order to read downloaded eBooks. Digital Editions is a free download and is available from the Adobe ® website.

Select Open with or Save File from the resulting dialog box Select Open with or Save File from the resulting dialog box. If you select Open with, your eBook is opened with Adobe® Digital Editions. If you select Save file, the eBook is saved to your computer and can be opened with Adobe® Digital Editions at a later time.

When a downloaded eBook is opened, it is displayed in Adobe® Digital Editions.

If the eBook you have chosen to download is in use by another patron, and if your library offers Hold capability, you have the opportunity to place a hold on the eBook, so you may download it when it becomes available. Enter your e-mail address in the field provided, and click the Place Hold button.

The eBook is placed in the Holds area of your My EBSCOhost Folder The eBook is placed in the Holds area of your My EBSCOhost Folder. When the eBook is available, you are notified via the e-mail address you provided, and the eBook appears in the Checkouts area of your folder.

At any time, click the Help link to view the complete online Help system.
