Innovation and Value - Is there a difference? We will only create value in healthcare by bringing together all participants in the system - Academics, Patients, Procurement, Life Sciences, Providers (Industry), Systems and other stakeholders Finding a common ground in an approach for measuring Value - We will then drive out inefficiencies in the system, mitigate rising costs and grow incentives to develop medical breakthrough for future generations. https://www.thevalueinitiative.org Improvement is the process of a thing moving from one state to a state considered to be better, usually through some action intended to bring about that better state. The concept of improvement is important to governments and businesses, as well as to individuals. https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary renews or alters the way something has been done. Making things better How do you quantify Value Based Healthcare, when outcomes cannot be easily measured in purely economic terms. It is to help people live healthier, happier, more fulfilling loves by improving outcomes using the finite resources available to us. An initiative is the start of something, with the hope that it will continue. Government and business start initiatives all the time. You can also talk about initiative as a personal quality. A person with initiative is motivated to do things. If you take the initiative, you're willing to get things done on your own. https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary Innovative, like nova, novel, and novice, comes from the Latin novus, which means new. Something innovative renews or alters the way something has been done. You can use innovative to describe the thing or the person that made it. https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary The process of translating an idea or invention into a good or service that creates value or for which customers will pay. ... In business, innovation often results when ideas are applied by the company in order to further satisfy the needs and expectations of the customers. www.businessdictionary.com/definition Taking ideas that improve expectations of our people Doing something that becomes sustainable Copyright © ABuHB Value-Based Health Care
