Introduce EROC and our work

Workshop Community Agreement Take care of yourself Listen with the intent to learn Speak respectfully and from your own experience Move-up, Move Back Take care of yourself Listen with the intent to learn Speak respectfully and from your own experience Move-up, Move Back This practice asks you to take stock of your privileges and the space you take up when organizing or participating in events. Community building requires humility and solidarity, and the practice of moving up and moving back helps you bring both. Move up when you’re directly impacted by the discussion, when you have a great idea that hasn’t yet been shared, when you have a concern unique to yourself or an identity you hold. Move back when you have already added to the discussion many times, when someone of a directly impacted identity wishes to offer their experience or insight, when you’re actually just restating something that has already been said. Use and speak directly into the microphone Define industry terms Does the audience have any other to add?

Workshop Objectives Attendees will be able to discuss promising state legislation as well as recent policy initiatives that center the needs of all collegiate survivors. Attendees will complete a deep dive into policy language that centers LGTBIA+ students and student survivors. Attendees will leave the workshop with next steps for their own legislative advocacy.
