1. THE TEST OF TRUSTING GOD Psalm 62:1-4 David’s own son Absalom is leading a coup to overthrow his kingship! Outwardly things are very bad.

GOD IS MY DEFENSE “Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” Psalm 27:14 “Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

2. The SECURITY of Trusting God Psalm 62:5-8 Can you really rest in God when things go wrong? “Find rest, O my soul , in God alone. My hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 62:5-6

3. The LOGIC of Trusting God Psalm 62:9-12 Does it really make sense to trust in God when things go wrong? Whom can I really depend on? Highborn or lowborn? Extortion or theft?

3. The LOGIC of Trusting God “Though riches increase do not set your heart on them.” Ps. 62:10

The LOGIC 1st--God is strong (11) 2nd--God is loving (12a) Therefore ---we can be assured that there will be justice—(12b)
