ETF QA Forum Mounir BAATI EQAVET Annual Network Meeting 13-14 June, 2019 Bucharest, Romania

THE FORUM IN SUMMARY ETF forum established in November 2017 It is a transnational collaboration initiative between national institutions with VET and/or VET quality assurance mandates in ETF’s partner countries (16 from SEMED and SEET). The aim of the Forum is to support member countries to modernise and improve quality assurance in VET by providing the context and means for peer learning through multinational co-operation. The Forum is inspired by the EQAVET Network, which serves as an instrument to guide the work of the ETF Forum. To edit footer go to insert>header & footer

FORUM activities: mapping of indicators Aim: collect information on the understanding, coverage, usage and data collection characteristics of EQAVET indicators (and proxies). Four modules: The first module focuses on the understanding, the relevance, the usage and the coverage Modules 2, 3 and 4 look at the a) coverage of quality assurance indicators within the national contexts; and b) characteristics of data collection (method, regularity, target group, institutions responsible, analysis, publication). We have finalised 3 modules and we expect to finalise the mapping and discuss the main findings during our annual meeting (8-10 October). To edit footer go to insert>header & footer

FORUM activities: participation to the EQAVET meeting Aim: Give the members an opportunity to meet and learn with / from experts / national stakeholders from EU Member States and EU institutions; Deepened their understanding of EU policy in the field of VET quality assurance, the EQAVET Network and the EU Quality Assurance Reference Framework; Engaged in debate on learner involvement in VET quality assurance ; Following the meeting the participants provided ‘snapshots’ of the state of play of this topic in their countries by answering to these questions: How relevant is the topic? Are learners considered to be key VET stakeholders? How are they engaged in quality assurance policy and practice? Which of the practices to strengthen the engagement of learners heard about were most interesting and why? Was there one (or more) innovative practice that could be promoted and, if yes, what actions to take? The answers to these questions formed our report on our participation to the meeting. FORUM activities: peer visit, Tunisia, april 2019 The ETF organised a peer visit based on a “Peer Visit Guidance and Training Manual - Working Paper” developed by ARQA-VET in collaboration with the ETF quality assurance team. The Manual provides guidance and a training concept for the implementation of Peer Visits as well as a ‘toolbox’ of instruments. The Certification Process of the Pedagogical Training of VET Trainers was the policy area at the centre of the Peer Visit. In terms of preparation: The hosting institution prepared an information note on the policy area, and compiled a detailed National Context Report (NCR). The peers have to read the NCR and consider the special assessment questions presented by the host institution for review and feedback. They conducted research into the policy area: quality assurance related to the certification of VET trainers in their own countries and prepared short notes on the latter.
