What Will We Cover? Panels first year of activities Transition Phase Panel structure for the research and development (R&D) phase of the development of an occupational information system (OIS) for the Social Security Administrations (SSAs) disability adjudication process

First Year Activities February 2009 inaugural meeting and working subcommittee development Initial Phase: Advice and recommendations to SSA regarding content model data elements for an occupational information system (OIS) classification of the OIS

First Year Activities Operating Guidelines approved, Executive Subcommittee formed April, 2009 (chairs of working subcommittees) Subcommittees recommend to Panel Panel to SSA SSA decides OIDAP report regarding initial phase recommendations for the OIS delivered to SSA September 30, 2009

Important Report Content Voted-upon recommendations to SSA are in the overall report, not in the appendices Differences between subcommittee reports in the appendices and the overall report reflect iterative nature of the process Report recommendations are the starting point of an ongoing and dynamic process launched in the initial phase of the OIDAPs advice and recommendations to the SSA

Transition to R&D Phase Since recommendations were delivered October Report disseminated to various entities Presentations to NOSSCR, IARP (conference and webinar) Review of subcommittee structure for OIS R&D phase

Subcommittee Structure Goals 1. Functional per needs of overall project and integrative of skillsets of OIDAP members 2. Lean and flexible to respond quickly to immediate, timely, or episodic research and incoming/outgoing communication needs (two main areas of function) 3. Maintain person- and work-side subject matter expertise for issue consultation
