Key Stage 3 A suggested Year 8-9 Project: Research / reference materials for inspiration when designing a Mobile Phone Holder Inspiration!! RA Moffatt Assistant Adviser WELB

Using reference materials: Important points to consider regarding research and the use of reference materials:- how has the materials inspired your thinking? how has this image influenced your design work? does the image / material provide an idea regarding manufacture? has the image / material influenced your choice of materials, colour, size, fabrication etc.? Example: I quite like this simplistic idea however it may be difficult to obtain accuracy with the internal radii when filing? Also this design may not be very stable and the base may need to be increased in size? I may consider attaching a wooden base ? I would prefer to use acrylic plastic rather than aluminium as it is much easier to file.
