Self-assessment process Self-assessment is undertaken by the organisation itself. Involves people making a judgement about the organisation’s performance against the Trusted Charity standards and indicators. You identify what is being done well (your strengths) and decide what needs to be improved (your areas for improvement). You then work towards an action plan to address the areas for improvement. Needs to reflect the views of the different stakeholders within the organisation. Self-assessment is not a ‘one-off’ process.

evidence Shows how you are meeting the standard. ‘Sources of evidence’ are just suggestions for places where you may find evidence. Only use ‘sources of evidence’ for ideas – think about what is appropriate evidence for your organisation. Does not always have to be written down or brought together in a portfolio. costs The Online tool prices start from £125, based on FTE. The cost of a Trusted Charity Mark assessment depends on the size of your organisation and level of Trusted Charity you are applying at. Prices start from £1800+VAT for a small, single-sited organisation, plus assessor expenses. NCVO members will receive a 10% discount off the cost of their Trusted Charity Mark fee.
