3 The New NPQs Overhauled to reflect current educational landscape
Change in type of providers being used LJ Previous NPQs made no mention of MATs or academies or free schools. It also didn’t mention the new curriculum or assessment without levels. Sessions were mostly delivered by companies and a criticism was that many of the facilitators, although very experienced, didn’t have up-to-date knoweldge of what was happening in schools.

8 Project and Assignment
Projects must last at least 2 terms: NPQML- lead a school improvement project within your team, aimed at improving pupil progress (part A) and team capability (part B) NPQSL- lead a school improvement project across the school, aimed at reducing variation in pupil progress and attainment (part A) and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of teaching (part B) LJ For aspiring middle leaders who are not directly responsible for a team (curriculum team or year group for eg)- you need to agree with your HT or senior leader (internal coach) what team or middle leader you will attach yourself to. For aspiring senior leaders, you will need to be attached to a senior leader to enable you to deliver a whole school project (might be your sponsor). Projects should be linked to your school improvement plan- an early conversation is advised. Bear in mind it’s going across two academic years due to the start date. You may also want to discuss with your HT the possible implications on your time.

9 How will I be assessed? By written assignment with sponsor comments:
NPQML words max plus evidence NPQSL words max plus evidence You will need a senior leader to act as your in-school coach for your project.
