Outline the content and gather the media. Enter the content. The content is entered the quickest in outline format. Choose the slide layout: Select the layout for each slide to showcase the information. Insert the graphics. Enhance the slide topic Choose a slide design template: Should enhance the content. Add transitions: Choose a consistent transition. Preview your show and share. 11

Video: Create/edit video files iMovie Windows MovieMaker (free with windows) Photo Story (Windows only - free) Audio: Create/edit audio Audacity : sound editor Players: required to play audio/video files iTunes QuickTime 12

Basics: Creating a Podcast What are the steps in creating an audio podcast? Plan the podcast: Determine the purpose, the format (audio or enhanced) and the tools needed. Record and edit: In an audio podcast, the script must be written and recorded. The audio should be edited until there is smooth flow of information. This can be done with Audacity. Create an MP3 file: the audio must be exported to an MP3 file to run on MP3 players. Upload to the web. This can be put at a blog or a website or iTunes for sharing (with permission). 13

Basics: Creating a Digital Story What are the steps in creating a digital story? Get ready: decide on tools and access Locate the media: collect the photos, audio and the content that will become the text Select the media: make selections and ready them for the story. Write the script: Content guides narration. Determine point of view. Record the script: Record using microphone or digital recorder. Import the media: Import images, music and narration. Save as directed Preview and upload the movie for sharing. 14

Basics: Safe, Legal and Ethical Use Are there considerations regarding safe, legal and ethical use of multimedia content? Major concern is ultimate use of content. Classroom or Published on the web Text: 10% or 1000 words (whichever is less) Photographs and Illustrations: No more than five works by a photographer. 15 images or 10% (whichever is less) Music: 10% but not more than 30 seconds Video: 10% or 3 minutes (whichever is less) 15
