Child Safety Online

The 3 cs Content: Being exposed to harmful material on websites or age ratings on games. Choosing social media apps with age restrictions. Contact: Being exposed to harmful interaction with other users, password theft, grooming, cyber bullying. Conduct: Being a responsible digital user, not causing harm, health and well being.

What you can do to ensure your child is a responsible digital leader? . Talk to them about their online use. . Ensure they know how to report an incident. . Choose age appropriate games and Apps. . Explain that using social media is very popular but comes with risks. Online world V Digital World. . Encourage children to share their feelings if they are upset about online content.

. Work through privacy settings and safety advice and reporting buttons for the apps used. . Show how to report and block upsetting content or people. . Encourage them not to feel under pressure to behave in a certain way. . Limit time spent on digital devices.
