5 The reality 77% of children in Northamptonshire have no limits on the internet at home Social media is having a massive impact on children's friendships and mental health. A third of parents would like more information 1in4 primary kids have seen something online that has upset them, higher for 5 year olds (42%)...84% are gaming, 1in10 playing call of duty There is more e-safety support and advice in primary schools. 70% of parents don't have a say in the apps their son or daughter download. 1 in 5 primary aged children say someone has been rude or horrible to them online. 1 in 2 children aged 5 – 11 in every classroom in Northamptonshire would go and meet someone they met on the internet.

Only post content and photos you wouldn't mind showing your family! Learn how to report any issues directly to the social network service If possible save conversations. Children should never share their exact location in their status updates. Images can be copied and pasted into any other space without their permission. Pick a user name that does not include any personal information. Never post comments or upload pictures that are abusive or may cause offence.
