8th Grade Dinner-Dance Friday, June 21, 2019

Important Dates & Time Parent letters going out today Payments due during week of March 25th Dance held on Friday, June 21 Doors open at 7pm Night ends at 10pm Please make sure your rides are on time!!!

Payment Info Cost is $25 per student A date is NOT NEEDED! cost includes all food & drink and souvenirs A date is NOT NEEDED! Payments due at lunch during the week of March 25th If you do not pay this week, you do not go! We have a lot to pre order so paying this week is required! Each student must pay for themselves Approximately 8-10 students per table, you choose your table! Table is used during dinner & to store things while dancing you can mingle! Also, be careful of valuables left unattended!

You cannot attend if you are absent Day of the Dance You cannot attend if you are absent or if you leave early. It is an early dismissal day, everyone leaves at 12:30!

Arrival Drop off starting at 6:45pm No one permitted to enter until 7pm Report to a teacher on your team to get checked in Only those parents who sign up as chaperones will be allowed to attend the dance (see PTA for more info) If parents want to get out of their cars, they must park in a real space so as not to block traffic! NO LIMOS or SIMILAR VEHICLE!!! (This is not a prom!)

BASIC RULES: Only current JTMS grade 8 students (must be in good standing with academics and discipline) No 6th or 7th grade students permitted No leaving the building once you have entered until the dance is over, unless a parent is picking you up early (we must know this in advance!) No wandering to unapproved areas of the building There will be a photo booth so phones are not necessary for pictures! Appropriate dancing!!! (Would you dance with your grandma or grandpa like that?)

Behavior Same rules apply as in school For example: No hats No cell phones (unless for pictures, not social media!) No running No foul language Students who cannot behave will be sent home!

Dress Code This is not a prom or a formal! Attire should be semi-formal or a nice business casual If you are not sure OR have any questions, see Ms. Koenig or Ms. Schreck in advance!

Gentleman: DO NOT WEAR A TUXEDO! Tie and suit jacket welcome, but are not necessary- keep in mind that the weather may be very warm!

Gentleman: Nice pants– no blue jeans! Khaki or dress shorts are acceptable, if they are in good condition

Ladies: DO NOT WEAR PROM GOWNS (Cinderella style)! Strapless is allowed, only with clear straps attached! You may wear spaghetti strap, one shoulder strap, or halter, but covering strapless with a shawl or sweater will not count.

(You may not remove them if they hurt) There is a full dinner, as well as snacks and dessert! (Come hungry) There will be a picture booth set up You do not need to bring any money!!!
