Objective & Means Analyze current demographic profile around Little Tokyo in Down Town, comparing with neighboring areas. Indexes are; Population Density Population Growth Rate Share of People over 65 Median Household Income

Extent of study

Population Density and Population Growth rate* Data: Census 2000, 2010 * From 2000 to 2010

Share of people over 65 Data: Census 2010

Median Household Income Data: Census 2010

Japanese population in LA county Little Tokyo/ Art District STA Data: Census 2010

Skills Inset Map (p.3) Aggregating attribute fields (p.5) Creating indices (p.4,7) Attribute sub-sets selections (p.3) Buffering (p.6) Geoprocessing (p.3-7) Geocoding (p.3-7)

Next Steps From this analysis, I assume that there might be a high percentage of a low-income senior in Little Tokyo District. To verify this assumption, I would like to analyze Housing Condition (age, single-multi) Relationship with public facilities for old people (hospital, social welfare facility) Relationship with building codes/ zoning laws (if possible)
