January 2018 PPG Workshop Evaluation

About the PPG Workshop In January 2018, East Lancashire CCG hosted it’s second annual workshop for Patient Participation Groups. The PPG workshop was a celebration of the partnership between PPG’s and practices and the good work that they do. Here is what attendees though of the workshop…

How they felt at the start of the workshop Happy – 39% Unsure – 39% Anticipating – 5.5% Hopeful – 5.5% Interested 5.5% Bad – 5.5% Total respondents - 18

How they felt at the end of the workshop Happy – 44% More Informed – 22% Very Happy – 11% Enjoyable – 11% Better – 5.5% Good – 5.5% Total respondents - 18

Words used to describe the workshop

How likely they are to recommend… On average, 4/5 would recommend!

What they would change about it… 27% said they would change ‘nothing’ Some of the other things mentioned were… Have more discussions / group work Encourage more presentations from PPG members & local community Speakers should give more time for questions Hold the workshops more often Too much time sitting and listening to presentations Chairs are uncomfortable Implement the suggested proposals

How they would describe the workshop to a colleague… “A very good event to teach about ways of self-improvement and wellbeing” “Excellent, very informative with good publications to bring back to my PPG” “Preaching to the converted but a great celebration of grassroots activity locally” “Well worth the effort and time given up to attend” Overall the majority of attendees said they found the workshop interesting, useful and informative.

Other comments… “We need help to recruit more YOUNG people to our PPG” “Didn’t know what to expect, some excellent signposting don’t feel as isolated as a PPG, cancer and sepsis was excellent, up and active was fabulous and such a good idea” “A very useful learning and networking event, better than the previous years event” “Glad I attended and have lots of info to take back to colleagues” “Really good networking opportunity”

Objectives… On average, 75% of attendees’ objectives were met.
