What are functions? A function is a rule that gives you a output (y) from using the rule on the input (x). A function is a relationship that assigns exactly one output value for each input value.

EXAMPLE: Rule- 2x x y 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16

How to do Functions To find the output (y) you follow the rule with the input(x). x x+ 5 y 1 2 3 1+5 2+5 3+5 6 7 8 4 4+5 9 5 5+5 10 6+5 11

Rule=X - 3 X y -2 -1 1 2 3 1 2 3 4 5 6
