Algebra II 2.1: Represent Relations and Functions HW: p.76 (4-20 even, all)

2 What is a relation? A relation is a mapping, or pairing, of input values with output values. The set of input values is the domain, and the set of output values is the range. (Typically the domain is represented as x and the range is represented as y.)

3 Identify the domain and range for the following relation
Identify the domain and range for the following relation. Represent the relation using a table and a mapping diagram. 1.) (-4, 3), (-2, 1), (0, 3), (1, -2), (-2, -4)

4 Identify the domain and range for the following relation
Identify the domain and range for the following relation. Represent the relation using a table and a mapping diagram. 2.) (-2, -3), (-1, 1), (1, 3), (2, -2), (3, 1)

5 What is a function? A function is a relation for which each input has exactly one output. If any input has more than one output, then the relation is not a function.
