Sustainable Construction Techniques

Recycled Brick Recycled bricks are made from used bricks, reclaimed from a demolition. They are good because they are cheaper than alternative new bricks. It uses local resources which would otherwise be put into a landfill (therefore reducing waste) Production costs are lower and less natural resources are wasted. Energy isn’t wasted in production.

Timber Frame Construction Timber can be easily sourced from sustainable forests where trees are replaced. Timber framed buildings are much quicker to construct. Construction is much more accurate as components are generally prefabricated.

Solar Hot Water Solar hot water systems use the sun’s energy to heat water. Solar hot water systems mean that there are less CO2 emissions as less gas is used. It is necessary to have a backup boiler as the solar system wont always be able to do the demand. It can be expensive to install but will save money in the long run.
