Transforming Business Operations

What Is BHbusiness Plus? A program of training, technical assistance, and resources designed to help BH executives identify and implement necessary business changes to survive and thrive in the new healthcare marketplace.

Led by BH Experts Funded by SAMHSA Partner Organizations:

Learning Module Topic Areas Strategic Business Decision Making Exploring Affiliations, Mergers and Acquisitions Costing Out Your Services (coming soon) Setting up a Third Party Billing System Improving Billing System to Increase Collections and Compliance New Business Planning Third-party Contract Negotiations Eligibility and Enrollment

Learning Networks Virtual online environment 15-20 providers Focused on one topic area Dedicated coach Live peer networking sessions

Types of Participants Organizations in substance use disorder or mental health treatment BH executives and managers Plus a team of change makers in selected topic area (e.g., clinical supervisors, key members of accounting, billing, registration, or IT)

Types of Applicants Individual provider organization Convener of a group of provider organizations (e.g., Single State Agencies, State Mental Health Agencies, ATTC Regional Centers, provider associations, and networks of providers)

Online Tools Learning networks are hosted on a password- protected Learning Management System (LMS).  The LMS contains the tools and resources for each topic area as well functioning as a communication platform that facilitates peer-to-peer learning. The BHbusiness Plus website is a public website that houses a Resource Library containing over 150 additional resources related to behavioral health and healthcare reform.
