The Story of ScholarWorks Summer 2008 Started the licensing process for the Digital Commons system with a focus on providing access to ETDs. Allowed Albertsons Library to create an open access repository for university scholarship. October 2008 Began development of the ScholarWorks web site. January 2009 Conducted an early ingest test with key faculty members. Spring 2009 Began developing an ingest management infrastructure which handles copyright review, permission requests, and faculty and document information. Summer 2009 Continued to refine our ingest processes and experiment with different types of content. August 2009 Began full-scale efforts to collect and upload faculty scholarship, first upload of theses and dissertations.

Make available via the ScholarWorks web site scholarship produced by the university. Creation of Selected Works pages for individual faculty. Distribution of data on the impact of faculty publications. Simple and inexpensive electronic publishing tools. Promotion of research efforts.
