Open.Michigan, part of the Office of Enabling Technologies at the University of Michigan Medical School, provides open educational resources for use, reuse, and sharing worldwide. Resources include syllabi, slides, tutorials, videos, and more produced by U-M faculty and staff across many schools and disciplines. Open.Michigan encourages researchers, learners, and instructors to maximize the impact and reach of their scholarly work through open sharing. Taubman Health Sciences Library is the first library at the University of Michigan to contribute staff-created content to Open.Michigan’s collection of resources. Library content is scheduled to be posted later this year and will be available to librarians to use, reuse, and share in any way that you wish as long as you cite the original author. blahblahblah health library Do you think there are benefits to sharing THL’s work on Open.Michigan? Health Library The mission of the health sciences library is to be a valued partner, fully integrated into the work of the university and providing leadership in knowledge management for education, research, patient care, and community outreach. 100% of respondents (n=10) indicated yes. health library > medical > nursing > dentistry > pharmacy > public health > outreach > research Medical > Resource 1 > Resource 2 Nursing Dentistry Pharmacy Public Health Outreach Research What are the benefits for sharing THL's work on Open.Michigan? Project Goals What are the benefits for sharing THL's work on Deep Blue? SHARE library content with a wider audience of collaborators, educators, and self-learners for legal use and reuse worldwide Tools PROMOTE & EVALUATE use of the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license, recently adopted by the U-M Library ADVOCATE at U-M and beyond for improved information sharing through better understanding and use of openly licensed content What methods of instruction would be most useful to you for any training related to Open.Michigan? dScribe, short for "digital and distributed scribes," is a participatory and collaborative model for creating open content. STREAMLINE submission of library-produced content into Deep Blue, U-M’s institutional repository OERca is a web-based content clearing application that supports the dScribe process. Respondents concur that there is a difference between the kinds of material appropriate for Open.Michigan and Deep Blue. Respondents see Open.Michigan as a location for our instructional materials such as handouts, slides, and screencasts, whereas respondents see Deep Blue as a location for our scholarly materials such as articles, posters, and presentations.
