Boy – Roald Dahl Me, Myself and I

Informal letters have: An appropriate layout: Me, myself and I. Introduce yourself! Your task is to introduce yourself in an informal letter to your teacher. In your letter should say a little about yourself. You could mention your family; where you live; your appearance; your hobbies and interests; your primary experiences and your feelings about your new school. Informal letters have: An appropriate layout: Your address in the top right hand corner (you do not need to include your name). Beneath that, write the date, in full! ‘Dear….’ goes on the next line, against the left hand margin. The body of your letter begins on the line underneath. End the letter informally. E.g ‘Best wishes’. A friendly tone. Your style can be chatty and humorous but remember, good letters usually keep the reader interested and are well organised.

Remember: Paragraphs. Capital letters and full stops. Vary sentence length and avoid simply listing information. Take care with your spelling. Use a dictionary! Present your work neatly and clearly.
