11 For any text you have to write, consider: P urpose A u dience L anguage L ayout

12 Purpose: 1. Why are you writing the text? 2. How do you want people to respond? 3. What words are you going to use to make sure they respond in this way?

13 Audience: Who are you writing to? Male/Female? Young/teenage/middle aged/old? Rich/poor? Busy/time on their hands?

14 Language: Once you know WHY you are writing and WHO you are writing to: What words do you need to use to suit the purpose and the audience? Formal/informal? Add humour? Be serious? Use language features

26 Remember: There are 40 marks available. How many marks do you need to gain a C grade? This section is a perfect opportunity to show off and earn lots of marks!
